Festimage 2010, an annual event now in its fifth year, is advertising for entries in its two competitions. Unusually, while the 50 finalists are put on display in the city of Chavas in northern Portugal, it is very much an on-line oriented event.

The two competitions carry a total prize money of €10,750 ($A15,760 approx) with €9,750 being distributed to the top five finalists in the main competition, and €1000 to the People's Choice Award which is judged by on-line viewers.

Over the past four years 8,064 people from 104 countries have taken part. The 2009l Festimage had the largest number of participants ever. A total of 2.847 people from 76 countries took part in the photography and digital art contest.

First prize of €5,000 at the 2009 Festimage, was won by photographer Victoria Balaban, from the Republic of Moldova with the image "black" at right.

Italian Daniele Cascone finished second, with a digital composition from his series “A concrete wall”. Third prize went to photographer Benoit Rousseau, from France, with a color triptych (top). Dutchman Huib Limberg finished fourth, and Ly Hoang Long, from Vietnam, was fifth.
